MB [MB] (めーたーぼっくす)
Meter box. A space for electricity, gas and water meters (gauges) to be stored together.
They are usually located outside the house (by the entrance). When this meter box is installed in the space for water and sewage pipes (pipe space), it may be labeled as “MBPS”.
面格子 [MENGOUSHI] (めんごうし)
Grate. Most of them are made of aluminum (with a frame). They are installed in kitchen windows and other places as a crime prevention measure.
